What I find most attractive in this work is the way that the flamework sculpture plays against the black ground. In fact the ground color is actually a deep dark transparent plum color but it displays black.  It is offset by a well centered and full flamework composition featuring two purple morning glories and a single California poppy with a smattering of Clichy style yellow roses over a thicket of crimped leaves and twisted vines.
