Pear Diamond Halo Engagement Ring Circa 1915

The Celeste Ring is a pear diamond halo engagement ring from the Edwardian Era, circa 1915! The ring centers a beautiful GIA Certified 1.99 carat antique-cut pear diamond of K color, I1 clarity. The diamond is bezel-set in a platinum setting with millegrain surrounding the stone. A halo of 14 old cut diamonds outline the diamond and combine for approximately 0.56 carats. The ring is size 7.25 and can be resized!

Why We Love It

The nearly 2-carat pear cut diamond on this ring is incredible, especially with that old-cut faceting! It has a large spread on the finger with the impressive center stone and the surrounding 14 diamonds! The platinum band serves as the perfect complement to the full setting!

We can't get enough of this eye catcher! The diamonds speak for themselves, but the details draw you in! Both the millegrain and the textured setting for the surrounding stones are a testament to the craftsmanship at work in this pear diamond halo engagement ring!

Edwardian & Onward!

By many accounts, the Edwardian era concluded with the reign of England’s King Edward VII in 1910, but it continued to resonate up until the first World War. Circa 1915, the Celeste ring shows how the late Edwardian Era would later give way to Art Deco fashion of the 1920s.

While each era is distinct, these eras shared some common qualities:

  • Interest in excess. In Edwardian fashion, it came across as flowing, organic forms; in Art Deco, it was more economical and geometric. We see both at work in the Celeste ring between the beautiful diamond setting and the thin, simple band.
  • Passion for platinum. For Edwardian fashion, platinum was the natural successor after various metal trends during the Victorian Era and was also perfect for intricate millegrain detail. For Art Deco, it was sleek and cool, architectural.
  • Large, stunning stones. In the Edwardian Era, large stones reflected a pre-war sense of optimism and wealth. For Art Deco, these stones were perfect for cocktail rings and offered a bold fashion statement.

In between these two vintage eras, the Celeste ring offers a truly unique and timeless style!
